Dr. rer. nat. Stephan Baumann, PhD in music and AI research, works in Berlin and Kaiserslautern at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI).
He wrote his dissertation on artificial hearing systems at DFKI and IRCAM / Paris. He founded “sonicson GmbH”, a spin-off for music recommendation machines in 2001 and the “tiqqer GmbH” a company dealing with memetracking and blogmonitoring in 2008.
Dr. Stephan Baumann was a guest lecturer for music recommendation systems at the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg from 2009-2018, . His current research interests include KI & Music/Creativity and Sensorstream Mining, specifically for sports and healthcare applications. He is an active musician and sound artist, passionate about modular techno and interactive sound installations.
